Will of Bridget Donnelly

In re: BRIDGET DONNELLY. DECEASED.

I, Bridget Donnelly of Saint John’s, Widow, hereby revoke all other wills and Testamentary dispositions by me at any time made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

1. I give and bequeath to Miss Minnie Doutney at present residing with me the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars (150.00)

2. I give and bequeath to the Reverend Father Leamey of the Cathedral Parish the sum of Fifty dollars (50.00) for masses for the repose of the souls of my husband William, my sons, Michael and James, and myself.

3. I give and bequeath to the Reverend John Carter of the Cathedral Parish the sum of Twenty dollars (20.00) for masses for the repose of the souls of my husband William, my sons, Michael and James, and myself.

4. I give and bequeath the residue of my estate and effects after the payment of all just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, and the legacies hereinbefore contained to my Executor and Trustee hereinafter named upon trust to apply the same and the income thereof for the support, maintenance, and education of my grandson Francis William Donnelly in such manner as shall seem best to my said Executor and Trustee in his discretion and upon trust to pay over whatever shall remain of my said residuary estate to my said grandson upon his attaining the age of twenty five years.
I authorize my said Executor and Trustee either to sell or keep, subject to the terms of the trust relating to my residuary estate, my household furniture or any portion thereof as he in his discretion shall deem best.

I appoint Thomas O’Neill of St. John’s, Theatre Owner, Executor and Trustee of this my Will.
Dated at St. John’s this 19th day of April A.D. 1923.

Signed (having been first read over and explained to her) by the said Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in our presence who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
