Will of Barbara Merchant from Newfoundland will books volume 4 page 28 probate year 1879

In re
          Barbara Merchant deceased.

In the name of God Amen.     This is the last will and testament of me Barbara Merchant of Saint John’s, Widow.     Any lands tenements goods chattels and effects I may die possessed of or entitled to I will and bequeath to my children William Merchant, Mrs. Elizabeth Flood, Mrs. Maria Eddy and Catherine and my grandchild Barbara Eddie to hold and enjoy the same as tenants in common share and share alike and in the event of any or either of them marrying his or her share shall go to and become the property of my other legatee or legatees-     The one hundred pounds now due by me to my said son William shall be a charge on my said estate and paid to him in addition to the interest (in my said estate) therein hereby bequeathed to him-     I appoint my said daughter Mrs. Elizabeth Flood executrix hereof.     Dated this 7th Feby 1879.     Barbara her X mark Merchant. Witness, Jos. I. Little, E.J. Barter.
