Will of Azariah Roberts from Newfoundland will books volume 10 pages 284-285 probate year 1914

In re     AZARIAH ROBERTS      deceased.

    This is the last will and testament of me Azariah Roberts of Saint John’s in the Island of Newfoundland, Engineer.     I appoint my wife Mary Ann Roberts sole executrix of this my will.     I give devise and bequeath all my freehold land and house in which I now reside, known as No. 240 Hamilton Avenue, with all outbuildings thereon and appurtenances thereto belonging, situate in Saint John’s aforesaid unto my said wife during her life time and after her decease unto my two sons, namely Harold Jackson Roberts and Allan Gordon Roberts, share and share alike for ever.     I give and bequeath to my said wife all my household furniture and chattels of every description for her own use absolutely.     I give and bequeath the Grocery business now carried on by myself and which my said son Harold Jackson manages and all the stock in trade therein and all the monies arising therefrom and all shop articles and all the debts due the said business unto my said wife absolutely.     I give and bequeath all monies that I may die, possessed of unto my said wife absolutely. I give and bequeath my watch and chain unto my said son Allan Gordon for his own use.     I hereby revoke all previous wills and testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me.     In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand this twenty eighth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.     Azariah his X mark Roberts.     Signed by the said Azariah Roberts the testator in the presence of us present at the same time who in his presence and in the presence of each other hereto subscribe our names as witnesses (having been first read over and explained to the said testator)     Hugh N.
