In re
Edward Francis Coaker. deceased This is the last will and Testament of me Edward Francis Coaker of Torbay
Road in the electoral district of St. John's East in the Island of Newfoundland,
farmer, I revoke all former wills by me at any time madee and I appoint
Henry R. Cook of the same place farmer sole executor of this my last will
and Testament. I give and bequeath to my adopted daughter Martha
Downton, formerly known as Martha Coaker my leasehold property and house
situate at No. 6. Bond Street, St. John's. I also will and bequeath
to the said Martha Downton my property on Longs Hill. St. John's
at present leased to one Purchase formerly the property of my late wife
Hannah Coaker, formerly Russell, who died intestate in 1899. I give
and bequeath to Mary Anne King, formerly Russell, niece of my said wife,
my property on the East side of the White Hills Road likewise formerly
the property of my late wife. I give and bequeath the property on the East
side of the Torbay Road directly opposite my homestead at present leased
to Patrick Leary and marked number one in a deed of partition dated December
15th 1886 and registered in volume 33 folios 91 to 97 of the Registry of
Deeds for Newfoundland to my niece Gertrude Beatrice Coaker: I give and
bequeath my property on the west side of the Torbay Road to the north of
the homestead, marked No :5 in the said deed and adjoining M. Goubreys
property and containing about two acres to Mark Downton, husband of my
adopted daughter, Martha. I give and bequeath to my executor my property
on the east side of this Torbay Road to the North of the property of bequeathed
to Gertrude Beatrice Coaker and as "Gadens Marsh" also all my horses cows
and other farm stock and all my farm machinery and implements upon trust
to realize and sell the same and after deducting from the proceeds thereof
all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses to pay the balance
if any, to my two nieces Annie Kendall Coaker and Gertrude Beatrice Coaker
in equal parts share and share alike. I give and bequeath all my
household furniture and personal effects to my nieces Gertrude Beatrice
Coaker and Annie Kendall Coaker to be divided between them as the may think
fit, otherwise in equal shares. I give and bequeath to my niece Annie
Kendall Coaker all that piece of land on the west side of the Torbay Road
and marked number 4 on the said deed together with my dwelling house barn
and other erections thereon.
