I, Robert Lammay Oke, of the town of St. John’s, in the
Island of Newfoundland, declare this to be my last will and testament.
I give and bequeath to my mother, Mary Jane Harris Oke, all my prints, books, paintings, linen, china, jewels, household goods, furniture, chattels, and effects, at my death. I give and devise to my said mother, Mary Jane Harris Oke, her heirs and assigns, the dwelling house and lot of ground, (being a part of the estate of the late Sarah Gill Harris) situated on Quidi Vidi Road, in the said town of Saint Johns, aforesaid together with all the appurtenances, thereunto belonging, to have and to hold the same unto the said Mary Jane Harris Oke, her heirs and assigns, forever. I appoint my father William R. OKE and my brother John C. Oke, executors of this my will, and desire that they shall not be required to give any security for the performance of their duties. In Witness Whereof I, Robert Lammay Oke have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety one (1891) Robert Lammay Oke Subscribed by the testator in presence of each and all of us, and at the same time declared by him to us as his last will and testament.
