THE PETITION of Frederick C. Grant, of St. John’s, Clerk, by his Solicitor, Charles O’ Neil Conroy,     HUMBLY SHEWETH that:

1. Richard Grant, late of St. John’s aforesaid, Accountant, died at the said place on the 10th day of October, 1899, intestate, leaving him surviving his widow, Susannah, and two sons, Claude F. Grant, who resides in Boston in the State of Massachusetts in the United States of America, and Frederick C. Grant, your Petitioner, who resides in St. John’s.

2. The said Susannah Grant is the second wife of the said Richard Grant, deceased, and is a cripple, and resides with her stepson, your Petitioner, and is supported by him.

3. The said Richard Grant, at the time of his death, was possessed of property, consisting of two shares in the Newfoundland Oil Company of the nominal value of thirty dollars each, and of no other property.

4. No administration has been granted to the estate of the said Richard Grant.

YOUR PETITIONER therefore prays that Your Honourable Court or Your Lordship may be pleased to grant to him Letters of Administration to the Estate of the said Richard Grant, deceased.

AND, as in duty bound, your Petitioner will ever pray etc. etc.
