Will of Catherine Hammond
(Widow of William James Hammond)

This is the last will and testament of me Catherine Hammond of St. John's, Newfoundland widow, and I revoke all former wills by me made. I appoint my son CHARLES HAMMOND sole executor of this my will. I give to my daughter CATHERINE WHEELER, my bed, bedding and bedstand, chest of drawers, washstand and other furniture and articles used in and about my bedroom, also my clothing and the trunk that usually contains said clothing. Any money (in Bank or otherwise) that I shall die possessed of I give in equal shares to my children ELIZABETH M. CARTER, ISABELLE SEYMOUR, CATHERINE WHEELER and CHARLES HAMMOND, but only of the said money and before distribution thereof, my executor shall first pay my lawful debts and funeral and testamentary expenses. The residue of my estate and effects I give to my said son CHARLES.

In witness thereof I have set my hand to this my will the 4th day of June 1906 Catherine Hammond

Signed by the above named Catherine Hammond as her last will in the presences of us both being present at the same time, who in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereto subscribed our names as witnesses. James J. McGrath, F. G. Knight

Letter of Probate:
Be it known that on the 24th day of February one thousand nine hundred and eleven the last Will and Testament of Catherine Hammond late of St. John's in the Electoral District of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland widow deceased, who died on or about the 8th day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven at St. John's aforesaid was proved and registered in the aforesaid Court, a true copy of which said last Will and Testament is hereunder written, and that the administration of all and singular the estate and effects of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to CHARLES HAMMOND of St. John's aforesaid clerk the executor named in the said Will he having been first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same by paying the just debts of the deceased, and the legacies contained in the said Will, as far as he is there unto bound by law and by distributing the residue (if any) according to law and to exhibit under oath a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said estate and effects, and to render a just and true account thereof wherever required by law so to do.
