In re
William Crockwell deceased Saint John's Newfoundland Nov. 2/08 Know all men by these presents that I William Crockwell of Bay Bulls in the island of Newfoundland [fishermen] being in good health and of sound mind do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. First I hereby appoint Lawrence Crockwell my son to be my sole executor of this my last will. Second. I hereby give and bequeath to my son Lawrence Rockwell all my land from the drain in room meadow adjoining to a meadow named Dawes or Drews meadow that my fishing room is situated on, and bound on the west by John Daniels rock, and I also bequeath to him my house and barn, and the meadows and Kates rock, and also Kates rock meadow to the eastward of Kates rock. The above mentioned house stands on a portion of the ground as mentioned above irg: between my stable and Kates rock. I also bequeath to the above Lawrence Crockwell the Small garden Known as the cellar garden bound on the west by John Rockwell, and on the east by the lane going up the hill called Pokempath Lane. And I also bequeath to my son Lawrence Crockwell my plantation bound on the east by the Plantation River and the west and north, and the western end runs up to the crage. also the ground owned by me bounded as follows, by Mary Coady on the west, and Matthew Coady by the east, and I also leave to my son Lawrence of all of my forest at Cuddehy's hill, also my claim of the remainder of the piece of ground between Con Brians farm and Coadys marsh on the western side, also that piece of ground owned by me on Mocklers road [on the two sides of the roadside] and I also leave to my son Lawrence the Little Corner by the side of the road. I also leave to my son Lawrence Crockwell the houses garden outhouses and yard ["being heir property"] and orchard situated between Creeds field and the hedge near the vicarage this also being heir property. This property is in Abbott Curswell Devinshire England which property has been in my possession forty four years. To my married daughter Helen Brien living now Bay Bulls I bequeath the sum of one hundred dollars which sum is at present in the Government Savings Bank of this Colony. And to my son Lawrence I give and bequeath the balance of money now lying to my credit in the Government Savings Bank after payment of the one hundred dollars to my daughter Helen Brien and I also wish it to be understood that my daughter Helen shall receive no interest on the $100 left her, during my life time, but in the event of her leaving the amount in the Savings Bank after my death, she will be entitled to the interest. I also bequeath to my son Lawrence all the money lying to my credit in the Bank of Montreal, [Savings Bank of Montreal] I also bequeath to him my cow and cart. In testimony whereof. I hereunto set my hand and seal and publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in the presence of the witnesses named below this third day of November in the year nineteen hundred and eight-W. Rockwell-witnesses of Thomas B. Clift, Arthur R. Bulley -codicle- whereas I William Crockwell of Bay Bulls in the island of Newfoundland have made my last will and testament in writing, bearing date November the third 1908, now I do this by my writing which I hereby declare to be a codicil to my said will to be taken as a part thereof I will and bequeath all my house furniture, beds bedding to my son Lawrence Crockwell. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of November 1905 Wm. Crockwell. The above instrument at the date hereof was declared to us by the Testator William Crockwell to be a codicle filled to be annexed to his last will and testament: and he acknowledges, to each of us that he had subscribed the same and we, and his request, sign our names hereto as attesting witnesses Thomas B.
