Will of George Lee of Petty Harbor
In re                         
George Lee deceased

This is the last will and Testament of me George Lee, at present of Petty Harbor, in the Island of Newfoundland, made this Thirtieth day of August, Anno Domini, one thousand nine hundred and Seventeen.  1.  I give, devise and bequeath to my son Alexander Lee the house in which I now reside, and all the furniture in the same, and all the land surrounding the same owned by me; also my horse and carriage and harness, to have and to hold the same unto my said son Alexander for ever.  2.  I give, devise and bequeath to my three sons, Frederick, Theodore and Alexander the fishing room at present owned and occupied by me, situate at Petty Harbor, and all the fishing outfit, boats and traps of every description to be equally divided between them.  3.  I give, devise and bequeath the house now occupied by my son Robert, and the land surrounding the same, to my said son Robert.  4.  I give, devise and bequeath to my sons and daughters the following sums of money to be paid out of any money whereof I may die possessed, but not out of property: to my daughter Bertha one hundred dollars[$100.00]. to my daughter Florence one hundred dollars [$100.00].  To my daughter Laura one hundred dollars [$100.00].  To my son Frederick three hundred dollars [$300.00].  To my son Theodore three hundred dollars [$300.00] and to my son Alexander three hundred dollars [$300.00].  The residue of my moneys I leave to be divided equally between my grandsons George son of Frederick and Harold son of Alexander.  5.  I appoint the Eastern Trust Co. the Executor of this my last will and testament.  6.  I revoke, cancel and annul all former wills made by me.  In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my hand at St. John's the day and year first before written-  George his X mark Lee.  Signed by the said Testator by affixing his mark, the same having been read over and explained to him as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed ourselves as witnesses   Brian Deerfield of St. John's Solicitor     L. In re George Lee;     - Codicil -
I, George Lee: of Petty Harbor, wish and desire that whatever money is in my dwelling-house at the time of my death belonging to me, shall - after fifty dollars have been paid to the Clergyman of the Church of England, Petty Harbor, to be devoted by him to such church purposes as he sees fit, and my funeral expenses paid, - belong to my daughter-in-law, Mariagmi(?) Lee, wife of my son Alexander Lee, for her kindness to me. [Signed] George Lee.  Signed by the said George Lee in the presence of us who signed in the presence of each other [signed] John Hewitt [signed] William Withers.  Dated this fifteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and Seventeen.
