In re
Annie Purchase deceased.
This is the last will and testament of me Annie Purchase, of St. John's
in the Island of Newfoundland. Widow. I revoke all former wills
by me at anytime made. I appoint my son-in-law P.G. Butler,
of St. John's aforesaid, School Teacher, the Executor of this my last will
and testament.
1. I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Rita Butler, wife
of the said P.G. Butler, my Morris reclining chair, and her father's
photograph [enlarged]
2. I give, devise and bequeath my dwelling house situate on Longs
Hill in the town of St. John's aforesaid, and numbered eleven, together
with my household furniture and effects to my said Executor to hold the
same in trust to sell the same and to apply the proceeds of such sale in
the following manner, that is to say,
[A] to pay all my just debts funeral and testamentry
expenses
[B] to pay the sum of One hundred dollars
[$100.00] to my said daughter Rita Butler, and
[C] to divide the balance of such sale equally
between my daughters Muriel M Purchase and Lilly Purchase.
3. All the rest, residue and remainder of my property of whatsoever
nature and wheresoever situate whereof I may be possessed or whereunto
I may be entitled I give and bequeath the same to be divided equally between
my said daughters Muriel M. Purchase and Lilly Purchase. In witness
whereof I have hereunto set my hand this sixth day of January in the year
of our Lord One thousand nine hundred and seventeen. Annie Purchase.
