Will of Charles Cummings of St. John's

 
In re                    
Charles Cummings   deceased.

This is the last will and testament of me Charles Cummings of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland Fisherman.  I give devise and bequeath unto my two sons Lethrop and George my following property that is to say my part of the Schooner "Lady Patience" and my property situate at Lower Island Cove, in the District of Bay De Verde, known as Canvas Town including a small piece of Timber Land on the North Side of the property to be equally divided between them.  I give and bequeath my part of motorboat and motor engine to my son Lethrop.  I give and bequeath my house on Longs Hill known as No. 83 unto my son George and all the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects of whatever nature and wheresoever situate I give and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth Cummings to hold absolutely and I appoint my son Lethrop as the executor of this my said last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand at St. John's aforesaid this tenth day of March Anno Domini one thousand nine hundred and twenty.  Charles his X mark Cummings.
Signed by the said Testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who present at the same time in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto set our names as witnesses first having been read over and explained to the said Charles Cummings who appeared to have fully understood the same.
