This is the last will and Testament of me Elias Driscoll of St. John's Newfoundland, Ships' Carpenter.  I direct that the Dwelling House and land occupied by me and known as No. 5a Hayward's Avenue be sold to best advantage, the proceeds of said sale together with amount on loan to Cochran Street Methodist Centennial Church, amount in Bank and any other monies I may die possessed of, to be held by my Executors, hereinafter named, in trust and after paying my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, death duties and the cost of errecting a suitable monument in the cemetery family plot, I direct that my Executors invest the residue of my estate and pay the income thereof to my wife Susannah during her lifetime with power to my Executors in case the said income shall be insufficient for her support and maintenance to pay my wife out of capital such sum or sums as they shall from time to time deem sufficient.  After the death of my wife the balance of capital is to be divided amongst my four children, Jethro, Charles, Richard, and Sarah Jane Stockwell- share and share alike.  In the event of the death of any of my children before such division is made his or her share shall go to his or her children.  Respecting the Dwelling House No. 32 Field Street consisting of two tenements I direct as follows:- [a] The upper tenement I bequeath to my son Charles who is at present occupying the same on condition that he keep the whole house in good repair during my wife's lifetime. [b] the lower tenement to my wife to be occupied by her should she so desire: otherwise to be in charge of my son, Jethro, who is to let same, collect the monthly rental and hand same to my wife during her lifetime. [c] after the death of my wife the lower tenement of said Dwelling is to become the property of my son Charles' eldest boy, Cyril.  I desire that my furniture and effects become the property of my wife absolutely, with the exception of the Kitchen Sideboard which becomes the property of my son Charles on the death of my wife.  My Gold Watch, vest and trunk I bequeath to my grandson George, and my Silver Watch to my grandson Cyril, I appoint my friends Arthur Mews and Arthur C.
