Will of Eliza Skeans of St. John's

 
In re   
Eliza Skeans   deceased 

This is the last will and Testament of me Eliza Skeans,  widow, of William J. Skeans.
1.  I revoke all wills heretofore by me made.
2.  I appoint my grandson, William Thorne, with whom I now live, to be the executor of this my last will and testament.
3.  I give devise and bequeath everything, whether real or personal or chattels real of which I shall die possessed or entitled to, to my said executor William Thorne upon trust.
[a] To pay all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses.  
[b] To pay to my son Robert Thorne now in America, the sum of two hundred dollars.
[c] To pay to my son Richard Thorne the sum of two hundred dollars.
[d] To deliver the following articles to the persons in this paragraph mentioned, - My large ornamental clock to my son Robert:, my bedstead and all bedding, except the white bedspread to Robert Thorne, son of Richard Thorne, the said white bedspread and my silk dress to Ethel Thorne, wife of William Thorne my said executor.  My watch and chain to Isabel Thorne daughter of William Thorne my said executor and the remainder of my clothing to my sons Richard Thorne and Robert Thorne and my said executor William Thorne as they shall agree.
[e]  To transfer all my interest in any property to which I am or may be entitled under the Will of the late George King to my son Richard Thorne provided that the said Richard Thorne pay all expenses which may be incurred by my Estate in obtaining possession of the same.
[f] To retain for his sole use and benefit all the rest residue and remainder of my said estate after payment and carrying out of the bequests hereinbefore set forth.  In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my hand at St. John's aforesaid, this 22nd day of March, A.D. 1917.  Eliza her X mark Skeins  Signed Published and declared by the testatrix as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at her request have hereunto subscribed our hands as witness, having first been read over and explained to the testatrix
