NL GenWebAvalon South Region ~ St. John's DistrictCathedral of St. John the Baptist, St. John's, NewfoundlandBURIALS 1784 - 1803 (Box 1) and Burials found in the Miscellaneous Box 6 covering 1793 to 1855.Transcribed by Jill Marshall 2011-2012
NOTE: there are 2 copies of the burials, one earlier than the other, the second being presumably a very old transcription of the first. The second is referred by me as the alternate
or ‘alt ‘for short
in this transcription. There are burials in the older version that were omitted in the second version
I suspect even the older version is a transcription itself, from notes or whatever form in which the minister kept the original information.
It was necessary to refer back and forth; sometimes what
was illegible in the first record was easier to read in the second. However sometimes the original
record was clearer. There are other differences as well which are indicated as necessary
